It is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our personnel that the Point Russell Police Department is acknowledged to be among the finest in the State. Collectively, we strive to deliver professional, progressive, and responsive service to our community.

Progressive - We will never become complacent in the way we deliver service. We will aggressively pursue emerging technology and innovative ideas.
Professional - We will conduct ourselves in a manner that reflects well on our department, our community, and our profession. We will treat all citizens with dignity and respect.

Department Head

Bill Scott

Police Chief William “Bill” Scott was sworn in on January 23, 2017, after serving 27 years in law enforcement. Chief Scott graduated from the University of Alabama, and the Sr Mngt Institute of Policing.

“Any successful police dept has to be a partnership between the community and officers. I am honored to work with residents, community leaders and local stakeholders for a better Springfield."

We are Hiring!

The Springfield Police Department is currently recruiting qualified men and women for the position of police officer. The most important duty of a Grand Rapids Police Officer is to protect life and property. This responsibility is achieved by the enforcement of statutes and ordinances and by providing a variety of services to the people in the community.
