KidSpeak® is an annual forum facilitated by the Mayor’s Youth Council, managed by Our Community’s Children, that gives young people in kindergarten through 12th-grade the opportunity to speak directly to legislators, community leaders, and school officials about issues of importance to them. KidSpeak® 2016: Planting Seeds for a Greener City is about how young people view green jobs and use green spaces such as parks, playgrounds, the river, meadows, creeks, etc. and its impact on how young people feel about their neighborhood, about themselves and about their future.Young people are urged to share a personal story and/or select one of the essay questions located on the registration form. This event is free and open to the public! Students are encouraged to attend and/or speak. Complimentary lunch immediately following in City Hall
